NOTE: Luke,
Lea, and the droids join the fleet while Han And Chewie go out in search
of a talisman; this sets-up the animated story from The Star Wars Holiday
Special, which actually takes place just prior to live action portion
of Special. In this story the heroes run into Boba Fett. Many have felt
that in the animated story Han and Chewbacca should have recognized Fett.
The answer as to why they did not is because Han only saw Boba while he
was recovering from his illness and it affected his memory. The reason
that Chewbacca didn't recognize him is not true, he did, but he kept it
to himself so that he could get the cure from Boba. If you watch the special
and still feel that this explanations don't seem to cover all the problems
remember that Lumpy is basically watching a rebel propaganda film for children
and the story was probably changed to interest the watcher.
After the animated
story Han and Chewbacca leave the fleet and journey to Kashyyyk for the
ceremony of light, while the others return to Yavin IV, and the story picks
up in The Holiday Special.
THE
STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL
LIVE ACTION WRITEN
BY BRUCE VILANCH, PAT PROFT, LEONARD RIPPS, MITZIE WELCH
ANNIMATED PORTION
WRITEN BY ROD WARREN, BRU CAROL; DIRECTED BY STEVE BINDER
PRODUCED BY TWENTIETH
CENTURY FOX, AIRED ON CBS NOV. 17, 1978
NOTE: The placement
of the LA Times strips at this point in the timeline is because in The
Second Kessel Run Han says he is performing a spice run for Jabba The
Hutt, which would logically take place between the stories of What Ever
Happened To Jabba The Hutt? and In Mortal Combat, because in
this period Jabba had rescinded Han's debt. For this same reasons #9 in
this series should not be read until after In Mortal Combat as the
story deals with Boba Fett trying to collect a bounty on Han for Jabba.
The story The Constancia Affair was one of three stories from the
LA
times strips that was not published as part of Dark Horse Comics's
Classic
Star Wars run, however the story was reprinted as a twelve page
give-away comic for K.B. Toy Stores. As this story line was originally
published on Sundays in conjunction with Gambler's World, published
on weekdays, I have listed it before Classic Star Wars: The Early Adventures.

NOTE: The Lost LA Times strips are ones that were not republished by Dark Horse Comics during their regular Classic Star Wars run, this makes their timeline placement difficult because I cannot read them. the titles used are not official. The first story was published on Sundays, when Gambler's World was published on weekdays, and most likly takes place between The Constancia Affair and Gambler's World. The Planet Kadril was published between The Frozen World of Ota and Han Solo At Star's End, and most likely occurs just after Ota.
